“Go on a long drive”
When you start thinking about where to go on a date, you usually only have one or two locations in mind, and those places are usually quite near wherever you’re located. You probably have never really considered going on a miniature vacation and hitting the road with your girlfriend for a road trip date, and you might have been seriously missing out. There are some huge advantages to choosing to go on a road trip as a date, but keep in mind that this will not work for first dates, or even dates early on in a relationship. A woman has to trust you quite a bit to agree to go on an extended trip with you, so you should wait a little while before broaching the subject – but when you think you can, you really should.
Why You Should Go on a Road Trip
Road trips can be a seriously amazing date. Not only do you get to spend quite a bit of time with your girlfriend away from the normal stresses of life, but you’ll probably wind up taking her somewhere neither of you usually have the chance to go. This can score some big points with her, so it’s really worth giving it a shot. Road trip dates can be perfect if you have difficulty finding time alone in your regular lives, or if either of you happens to live with parents. Besides any of that, she’s probably never really been on a road trip as a date before, so you’ll certainly get points for being creative.
How to Make It the Best Trip Ever
Making your road trip date go off without a hitch is extremely important. Remember that you will be spending at least a couple of hours with her in the car, so you want to make sure that you’ll both be entertained and comfortable. Have plenty of drinks and snacks available in the car so neither of you has to suffer with hunger or thirst. Know your route well so you know when you can stop to grab a bite to eat or visit a rest stop. Have plenty of music or books on tape to listen to for when the conversation dies down; the radio can be extremely boring. Having pillows and blankets in the car can also be a great idea just to make her extra comfortable during the long ride.
What Your Destination Should Be
“Go for some nice sight-seeing location”
The point of going on a road trip is to wind up somewhere exciting so that the trip wasn’t all for nothing, so you should choose your destination carefully. Somewhere relaxing like a spa or resort is a great idea, especially if your normal lives are particularly stressful. Other possible destinations could include a music festival that was usually out of your reach or maybe a theme park you want to have some fun. Whatever you choose, make sure it’s worth it. Road trips can be fun, but only if there’s a good incentive at the end of it that she’ll enjoy.
