If you have dated a woman for any length of time, chances are that you’ve had to deal with her while she’s on her period at some point. This can be uncomfortable for all parties involved, especially if she’s the type that gets bad mood swings or heavy duty cramps. It can also be a drag if either one or both of you isn’t comfortable with having sex while she’s on her period, but making a woman feel better while she’s on her period can lead to big benefits later on. Knowing how to treat her right while she’s suffering with a bad period is a good skill to have.
Keep Calm at All Times
“Keep calm even if she shouts at you”
While not all women have mood swings before or during their period, some of them do – and if you’ve ever experienced it, you know it can be crazy. However, nothing will get you sent to the dog house faster than treating her emotions lightly while she’s nearing her period. Never call her crazy and never tell her she’s just upset because she’s hormonal, no matter how true it might be. Women never want to hear you tell them that their emotions are just because of their period – if you ever say this, you risk bodily harm, so be careful. Instead, try to be calm and accepting and do whatever she needs to be happy instead of blaming her period for her attitude. Let things ride out and see how she feels in a few days instead of jumping on her case right away.
Bring Her What She Needs
No guy wants to go to the grocery or drug store to buy tampons or pads for their girlfriend, but you will most likely be asked to do so at some point in your life. When this happens, man up and do it. Nobody is going to judge you or laugh at you for buying tampons or pads for your girlfriend. It’s an incredibly caring thing to do, because it is uncomfortable and strange. Make sure you know exactly what she needs before you go to the drug store. There are dozens of confusing labels and you don’t want to wind up with the wrong thing. Then you’d have to go and do it all over again, and that would be unpleasant for everyone involved.
Make Things Comfortable for Her
“Massage her back and shoulders”
Some women have extremely serious pain while they’re on their period, while others only have mild pain but other unpleasant symptoms. The best thing you can do to seriously score points with her is to make her as comfortable as possible. Offer her heating pads or hot water bottles for her stomach if she has cramps. Make sure she has the pain medication she uses. Also offer to massage her back, shoulders and feet. Keep her well-supplied with chocolate and her favorite foods. The more pleasant you make the experience for her, the more grateful she will be further down the line.
